Mario Rui and his agent Mario Giuffredi today met Roma’s management team, including sporting director Monchi, to discuss the left back’s future, and after talks had concluded Giuffredi revealed to Radio CRC that his client will be leaving the Giallorossi after a single season for Napoli.
“Roma will have to find a replacement and it won’t be easy,” the agent said. “I think it will be one of the most difficult problems they have to solve, given that they have been working on a number of other fronts.
“With the sales of Manolas, Paredes and Salah, they’re looking for other players in different positions and so Mario Rui’s [departure] will come as a shock to them. The sale could be completed by 30 June, otherwise we’ll see what happens.
“Is it definitely happening? What the player wants is very important, so the two parties will need to find a compromise – Mario Rui will go to Napoli.”
