Bruno Peres spoke to pagineromaniste.com at the ‘Briswa – The Ball Rolls in the Same Way for All’ event on Monday. Among his responses he admitted that he hasn’t been satisfied with his first season at Roma, and hopes that Juventus lose the Champions League final against Real Madrid.
It’s important to talk about it, it’s something that we need to get rid of in football because there are people who are suffering it. It’s not just important to me, but to others as well. It’s important to talk about it so that we can fight against racism.
What do you think about Lazio’s banner for Totti?
It’s difficult to answer that, we’ve still got him for the last game and we have to win it, then Francesco will talk.
No one was expecting it…
Even though they’re our rivals, he’s a great player and is an example for everyone. He deserves all the praise he’s getting and we’re happy that [Lazio fans] did that. No one was expecting it but it was a nice surprise.
Are you satisfied with your season?
I’m never satisfied, you always have to try and do more. Something’s not right if you’re satisfied.
I’m still under contract for 4 years, I like it here and I’m happy, but I want to do a lot better. I’m not very happy with what I’ve done so far, things can get better.
Why haven’t you played recently?
Ask Spalletti. He’s changed our system and I respect that, I’m available and I’m working hard so I can help my team-mates. Whether I play or not, I’m always ready to help my team-mates.
What do you think about Juventus’ possible treble?
They’ve got a great squad, they’ve done well and deserve what they’ve won. They’ve hardly made any mistakes and deserve to have won. I hope they don’t win the treble though, we’ll be happy with that.
