Roberto Mancini has played down rumours linking him with taking over from Luciano Spalletti at Roma in the summer. Spalletti is widely expected to leave the club when his contract expires next month, and Mancini was one of the candidates linked with succeeding him.
However, speaking to Radio Incontro Olympia, the former Inter and Manchester City boss said that he was more interested in pursuing another opportunity abroad, and would like to join former Roma player Carlo Ancelotti in Germany.
“My sabbatical year will finish when I find my next club,” Mancini said.
“I’ve never met any of the Giallorossi directors. I hope I’ll get an opportunity abroad because it’s more enjoyable, you can experience a new culture.
“I’d like [to coach in] the Bundesliga, it’s a different experience.”
