La Gazzetta dello Sport (Davide Stoppini) In short, this is the story: Franck Kessie and Roma have sat down at the negotiating table and things are now becoming increasingly clear. This is the result of a meeting last Friday between Roma directors Ricky Massari and Mauro Baldissoni and the player’s agent, the Ivorian George Atangana. Yes, the same agent who – at the end of January – said that he was doubtful Kessie could join Roma (some say that this is because he was initially kept out of negotiations).
Whatever the reason, the Giallorossi decided that they wanted to clear things up with him directly. And so, Kessie is moving closer to becoming a Roma player in June. It should be said that nothing has been decided yet: currently, for instance, it’s more likely that it will be a purely cash deal – neither Marchizza nor Tumminello will be included (as initially seemed certain) as a makeweight. In any case, the agreement they made with Atalanta at the end of January is holding firm.
